Look beyond price
Company shares, a business and individual assets are different purchases. Define the transaction and the rights, duties and relationships it may involve.
Combine different records
Accounts, company rules, contracts, permissions and disputes show different aspects. The company register file is useful, but further documents may need to come from the company itself.
Record missing information
A tidy file may still be incomplete. For each question, identify the document needed and who should provide it. Important spoken answers need verifiable support.
An imagined example
A business says it has a major customer. Read the contract’s duration, renewal and termination terms. Today’s profitable relationship may be less secure than it looks.
Use findings to decide
Clarify risks, foreseeable costs and points to negotiate. Contractual warranties and professional checks cannot remove every risk. Overseas investments also need coordinated tax, local-law and technical checks; Italian arrangements do not apply everywhere.
